Substance Use Disorder Program

The Camp Oakland Achievement Center Treatment (ACT) program provides substance use disorder treatment services in an open, non-secure residential setting for teen boys, from ages 14 to 17 years. The program is located on a 160-acre wooded campus that offers an ideal environment for healing and helps to promote the recovery process. The goals of treatment include gaining the skills necessary to maintain sobriety, engage in healthy relationships and make positive lifestyle changes.

The Camp Oakland Girls Treatment Center (GTC) is a 6-9 month residential program designed to meet the needs of girls, from ages 14 to 17 years, Involved in the juvenile justice system. Program services are provided in an open, non-secure setting located on a 160-acre wooded campus that offers a safe and supportive environment to promote the healing process. The GTC program utilizes a Trauma-Informed Care approach as its foundation and provides gender-specific treatment interventions to help girls overcome challenges while developing skills for positive community living. Programming incorporates an understanding of female development while focusing on the factors that impact girls in our communities. If needed, the GTC program includes a specialized substance use disorder treatment component with an emphasis on learning to maintain sobriety, engaging in healthy relationships and making lifestyle changes to assist in the recovery process. Finally, the program addresses delinquency and mental health issues with the goal of building resiliency and preventing further at-risk or delinquent behavior.

The Camp Oakland Life Preparation Center (LPC) is a 6-9 month residential program designed to meet the needs of teen boys from ages 14 to 17 years, Involved in the juvenile justice system. LPC offers these youth the opportunity to learn vocational, life, and career skills. Among these skills are automotive, culinary, janitorial, landscaping/maintenance, agriculture, and more. With this being our newest program, (opening in July 2023) we are continually analyzing the program and adding elements to better the understanding and knowledge base of our youth.

Reporting Procedures

Multiple ways residents can report

If a resident experiences or fears sexual abuse, sexual harassment, or retaliation, they can:

  • Tell any staff member, contractor, or volunteer (including chaplains, teachers, medical, etc)
  • Submit a grievance or medical slip
  • Ask to speak to the PREA Compliance Manager
  • Call/write the Children’s Protective Services: 855-444-3911

Third-Party Reporting

Youth can also ask someone else to help them, such as a family member, friend, attorney, probation officer, outside advocate, caseworker, foster family, or another resident.

External Reporting

Residents can contact CareHouse, Oakland to report sexual abuse or sexual harassment. CareHouse, Oakland is not part of the agency and has agreed to accept resident reports. When they receive a report, they will forward the report to the agency to initiate an investigation.
